Manufacturer Description
Porter-Cable Professional Edge router bits are constructed of 4140 Alloy Steel, a harder grade of steel than standard cast steel bit bodies. Each bit is annealed and heat treated to Rockwell hardness of 40-45, harder than is possible with cast steel bodies. The bits are precisely ground using computer controlled machining for precision tolerances and perfectly concentric shafts. The carbide tips are made from a specially blended micrograin carbide for superior results and longer lasting sharpness. Since standard plywoods are slightly thinner than their nominal size, this router bit is designed to route grooves and dadoes to the actual width of the plywood. Great for joining cabinet and furniture parts constructed of plywood. The beefy 1/2-inch shank provides smooth, vibration-free cutting.
