I've just installed this ceiling fan on a patio with a fairly low roof and it fit well in that space. The blades are only about 9 or 10 inches down from the ceiling. Installation wasn't too difficult but the Neoprene covering around the mounting plate did make it a little difficult to put in the screws. The fan did not wobble even on the highest speed and it did put out a fair amount of breeze on high. It was not as much breeze as an industrial metal fan but it is acceptable for its location. The color depicted in the pictures on this page (as of May 15 2006) is not the color of this fan. It is more of a reddish-bronze brick color. The blades on this fan are plastic with a wood finish instead of real wood. For me that's good because I wanted it for outside and the plastic blades should hold up well.
