Nice heavy CAST base! Makes the saw very stable. Niether Hitachi nor Dewalt have a cast base. Solid contruction, not flimsy, not much plasic besides the handle. Pivot seems very solid but smooth. Nice long miter fence for the clamp. It's like a monster dremel cutoff wheel. Tends to melt its way through aluminum and leaves flashing on the exit side but it is easy to clean up with a file. D-handle is nice. Glad I finally have one. I hate working with a hacksaw when I don't have to. No soft startup so head jumps up a bit when you squeeze the handle (no saftey gimick) but jumping up is much better than down.
