Product Description
Designed for cooling large spaces up to 450 square feet, this thoughtfully designed portable air conditioner uses environmentally-friendly R410a refrigerant gas to help protect the environment and the ozone layer. Its refrigerant also provides energy-efficient operation, using less energy to deliver the same amount of cooling as other refrigerant types. For faster, quieter, and even more efficient cooling, add water to the air conditioner's 14-liter internal tank; a full tank offers up to 12 hours of continuous water operation. Use the water-cooling function with "Turbo" mode for 13,000 BTUs of maximum cooling power, or with "Supercool" mode for 11,000 BTUs of cooling power. If the water runs out, the unit will automatically switch to "Cool" mode for 9,000 BTUs of air cooling. In addition to cooling, the three-speed unit also functions as a "dripless" dehumidifier and can remove up to 70 pints of water when in "Dehumidifier Only" mode. Additional modes include Fan-only/Filtering mode, Smart and Sleep modes, and Quiet mode.
The air conditioner also features an electronic control panel with an easy-to-read blue LCD display, a handy infrared remote control, and a 24-hour programmable timer that turns the unit on at a specific time--great for coming home to a cool room at the end of the day. In addition, it comes with an advanced air-filtration system, the Biosilver Techsystem, with high-performance 3M electrostatic filter, silver ions air purifier, and ionizer, a combination that removes allergens, germs, bacteria, and odors from the air. The filter should be replaced once a year. Other highlights include an adjustable thermostat, an electronic humidistat to prevent over-drying the air, and automatic shut-off, as well as durable caster wheels and side handles for portability. Accessories include a Pinguino-style container for filling the water tank, an exhaust hose, and a double window bracket. The unit effectively combines an air cooler, a dehumidifier, and an air cleaner all in one stylish design that will nicely complement any decor. Designed and engineered in Italy, the eco-friendly air conditioner measures 18 by 22 by 35 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

I admit, I got suckered into buying this unit because of the marketing and slick featureset. What a disappointment. I am returning it as quickly as possible, and would probably avoid Delonghi products going forward. I was trying to get information on where to buy replacement filters from Delonghi USA (& Canada), the former did not reply to several emails (USA tech support), and the latter - the Canadian support email bounced (no such mailbox). What a joke. PROS: Really nice & modern color scheme, graphite and silver. Pretty blue LCD that displays everything you need to know. Eco-friendly refrigerant Side handles (because its very heavy) 3M Biosilver Techsystem CONS: VERY Noisy - sounds like an old dishwasher when cooling in Water to Air mode (swishing noise, I am guessing the rotary engine cooling off using the water). Water refilling to get optimal cooling (to get 13K BTU) is annoying & frequent (Tested on a very hot day I had to refill it every 6 hours), I would bet that most people would give up on this eventually. Without the water, this unit does 9000 BTU in air cooling. Huge - This thing is only portable due to the casters. Very bulky. No Oscillating Louvers! The air is blown up in one direction, no choice. No information on how (part#?) or where to buy the 3M filters that should be replaced once a year. Heavy - Perhaps I'm being picky here, but this thing is so heavy (128 lbs). What I recommend instead: The Sharp CVP10MX, as most people here (Amazon) have had a great experience with it. I recommend you have a look.
