Product Review
Gentle curves, sharp turns, circles, ovals or straight cuts, its all a cinch with this DeWalt. Its got so much power, it can easily take on jobs youd normally hand to your circular saw, but its got the finesse you need for cutting curves.
Our pet peeve with jigsaws has always been the complicated, tooled method of changing a blade, but bravo to DeWalt for engineering this tool-free, practically effortless blade changeout system. The flip of a lever is all it takes, and youre back on the job. Its nice, too, to not have to handle that sizzling hot blade – the saw ejects it for you.
Control is phenomenal, and it really feels like the saw does the work for you. Its on the heavy side at about 7 pounds, but that weight turns out to be an advantage. The motor powers the blade at 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute, so whether youre cutting 1/8th-inch ply or a 2-by-4, this saw does not disappoint. In fact, its so powerful that its easy to forget that this is, after all, a cordless saw. You can tailor the speed and aggression to suit your cutting needs with a four-position selector that changes the attitude of the blade for different cutting applications. The non-marring shoe bevels to 45 degrees with positive stops, but we found it a tad difficult to determine the exact angle wed set. A minor quibble, but one worth mentioning.
We particularly like how this saw feels in hand. Even though its weighty, its beautifully balanced, and the curved rubber grip feels good to grasp. The shape of the front of the tools lends itself nicely to your free hand for guidance. And while youre cutting, the built-in dust blower really does a great job of keeping your cutting line clear. Carpenters and contractors will love this saw, and the do-it-yourselfer will find a hundred uses for it. Well worth the investment, we think. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

The DC330 features an oversized, all-metal, lever-action keyless blade change for fast and easy blade insertion and removal. The jigsaw is designed with a powerful DeWalt built motor that delivers 0-3,000 spm. The 18-volt XRPTM battery provides the run time to cut up to 50 feet of ¾" material on a single charge. Four position orbital action allows users to set the aggression and speed of cut by altering the angle at which the blade sweeps through the material. An innovative flush cutting blade is included that allows the teeth on the special blade to cut at the front of the shoe. Additional features include variable speed, electric brake, counterbalanced mechanism, non-marring shoe cover, 45-degree bevel capacity, built-in dust blower, and rubber grip. The kit includes a one-hour charger, one XRPTM battery, blades, and kit box.

I have owned the bosch 18v jig saw and was very unhappy with it. Jigsaws need to do one thing better than any other saw: cut curves and corners. The new dewalt jig is phenominal in all respects, its blade guidance system allows for the tightest curves I have ever cut with a jig saw and that includes the corded models. this thing will cut 2" circles inside a 2x4!! and the plug will go in and out from both sides meaning the cut was perfectly perpendicular. I am a loyal milwaukee user but they don't provide a cordless jig so I bought this one. The power is excellent the balance is near perfect and the keyless shoe is great, best jig saw I have ever used and I am a pro. only down I can say is the blade does not really fall out when you pull the release lever, you need to pull it out, no biggie.
