Product Description
The punch lock stud crimper from Malco uses compound leverage to increase your mechanical advantage nearly seven to one. Simply squeeze the handles together with one hand while holding the stud in place. A unique punch and die shape creates a rectangular crimp, bending over the thickness of channel and stud at the same time to form a sturdy bond. The crimp is always the proper strength and resists stress from any angle. The spring return handles snap the punch back in a ready position to go on to the next stud or fastening point.
Lightweight and compact, this tool lets you work overhead or in tight quarters with ease -- and it fits inside the smallest stud and runner. The punch and dies are constructed from high quality tool steel and are easily replaceable. The tool body has an aluminum/zinc die-cast 'C' frame and rust-resistant, nickel-plated steel handles and parts. This tool also features non-slip vinyl grips with hand stops for added comfort and resistance to the elements.

But screws hold better. I found it worth the money, as I could not get into a tight spot and this went in easily. Also, for those marginal areas, you can use it for a starter hole for a screw
