Product Description
DMT Diamond Whetstones have a reputation for providing years of uncompromising service and are renowned for their remarkable sharpening speed. The DuoSharp Plus offers the convenience of two diamond grits in one precision stone, PLUS a continuous zone area added for small and pointed tools. Unlike conventional oilstones, Japanese waterstones, and ceramic sharpeners, DMT Diamond Whetstones will not break, chip or crack. Uniformly sized Monocrystalline (single crystal) diamond is permanently bonded in a nickel plate to the precision ground steel plate. Approximately two thirds of each crystal is embedded in the nickel, with one third exposed. Because diamonds are the hardest material known, the working abrasive points will wear very slowly to give a long product life. The surface remains flat, never develops hollows or grooves and never needs dressing.

I bought this stone to sharpen wood working tools, plane irons, chisels, knife blades. I've used it to sharpen my chisels and 6 plane irons, 3 block, and 2 smoothing, and a jack plane. All razor sharp. The shaving the hair off the arm trick, sharpen your plane iron with this stone and you'll be able to shave any part of your body. This stone works really well. I only have the fine and extra fine stone but I like it so much I'm thinking I'll get a coarse and fine combination. The stone cuts fast, easy cleanup, the extra fine side leaves a good polish, not mirror but very smooth to the touch. Definitely recommended.
