Product Review
A powerful 1-1/2 horsepower induction motor is at the heart of this saw, giving it the guts to handle whatever you feed it. It's solid as a rock once the somewhat trying assembly is completed, but it's definitely worth the trouble. We really recommend you have a buddy to assist, though. The included mobile base is fantastic, allowing you to easily move this around your shop.
The 40- by 27-inch table and extension wings are cast iron, machined smooth and flat. Some paste wax or talcum powder turns the table into a thing of beauty. There's plenty of table expanse in front of the blade, and the front edge has a nice bevel on it. The miter grooves are T-slots, and the gauge is not fancy but is accurate and snug in the slots. It has the usual detents, at 45 and 90 degrees. The bevel handwheel is on the front, and the blade height wheel is on the side, and both are smooth and easy. The blade tilts left to 45 degrees, with a max cut depth of 2-1/8 inches at full tilt, 3-1/8 inches straight up. Cutting operations are smooth and surprisingly quiet, and for an open-stand saw, we were pretty amazed at how well the dust is controlled; there's a tray under the table that provides a connection for a 4-inch dust hose hookup.
The Biesemeyer fence on this saw is the perfect match for it: It glides as if on air, giving you precision every time. The three-point locking system assures you of accuracy and parallelism to the blade, and the hairline cursor works with the integrated steel tap so you never have to use your measuring tape to check the fence again. It's built to last of 9-ply Finnish birch and high-impact laminates that Biesemeyer hand-fits to the angle iron and tubing. You just can't get a better fence for a saw of this caliber.

This saw was an upgrade from a smaller model. My skill levels have increased so I figured my saw had to also. This saw has awesome power, and with the Biesemeyer fence, superb accuracy. The fine adjustments that can be made to both the saw and fence system are great. It allows you to fine tune the blade stops, blade and fence to make it perfectly accurate. And its not hard to do.
