    Product Review
Tight mortise-and-tenon joinery is an irreplaceable ingredient of many woodworking projects, but cutting tenons accurately can be next to impossible without the aid of a good jig, like this one from Delta. This jig is made with the same quality of castings and precision machining found on Delta's top-of-the-line table saws, giving it the stability and accuracy we desire. We also appreciate its versatility and wide range of adjustment. While the jig is a perfect match for Delta's benchtop and contractor saws, the miter-slot bar can adjust to fit a number of other manufacturers' table saws as well. It can be used with both right- and left-tilt saws, although switching between the two setups does take some time and attention to detail. The jig can be adjusted from 90 to 45 degrees and has adjustable positive stops; of course, we recommend checking your adjustments with a good square and bevel gauge to make sure the stops are set correctly.

Getting your tenoning jig set up just right can require some patience, but once done, you'll get a big payoff in accurate tenons, and your projects will have the tightest possible joints. In our experience, few shop accessories will prove as invaluable to your woodworking as this solid tenoning jig from Delta. --Brian Trinen

    Manufacturer Description
Cut tenons, lap joints, and other wood joints on the table saw using this tenoning jig. It fits Delta and most other brands of left and right-tilting table saws with a 3/8-by-3/4-inch miter gauge groove. Adjustable stops allow cuts from 45 to 90 degrees for angled joints and miters. The large crank handle provides quick and firm clamping of stock. A fine thread adjustment knob delivers accurate, professional joinery with stock up to 3-1/4 inches thick. Includes one tenoning jig.

    Customer Reviews & Comments
I was impressed with the weight of this jig - I would guess over 15 lbs. The castings are good quality and thick. Don't drop this on your toes! The weight keeps it firmly planted in the slot during use. It has two handles that keep your hands well out of harms way as you push your work through. Setting up and trueing the jig was a bit of a pain. Having a left tilt saw required me to move the cleat to an alternate set of mounting holes in the shoe. Not too difficult once you take the whole jig appart. I reassembled it to do the squaring proceedure which is difficlut with the supplied allen wrenches. You have to access two screws through holes in the sliding upper base. These can only be reached with the long side of an allen wrench. I ended up using a long socket wrench mounted one to get enough torque to loosen and tighten the screws adequately. The rear screw can only be accessed if you remove the micro adjusting mechanism AGAIN on left tilt saws. The stop screws for the verticle alignments are difficult to fine tune. The push block has only a threaded rod with a jam nut on it. I had to back the screw off its final position to allow for slippage while tightening the jam nut. I will probably still check it for square each time I use it anyway. It does have a stop screw to keep the jig off your blade which does adjust fairly easily. You can also mount a sacrificial wood block on the verticle face if you plan to cut with a dado set. You supply the screws to fit the predrilled holes. The instructions are not very easy to follow and are illustrated with smudgy B&W photos. Delta should take a cue from Incra and hire someone to draw the illustrations and write clearly. Overall, this is a good product, but it's kind of like a '71 Ford pickup - slow to start unless you know how to finess it.
