The MS600B is an intelligent tool that gives feedback while sanding. A three-position Zone Light Indicator communicates when the sander is working most efficiently for the best sanding results, eliminating inconsistencies and divots in your sanding projects. By sensing motor speed, the Zone Light will illuminate as single green light to indicate “on” and light sanding modes, a full green light indicates that you are applying proper amount of pressure for the best surface finish, and a red light illuminates when you apply to much pressure on the sander. The MS600B is also built with Auto Calibration, a feature which calibrates the three position indicator based on the incoming voltage from the power outlet each time you turn on the Mouse. This calibration step sets the “zones” to ensure consistent sanding performance regardless of the natural power fluctuations in your home. This also ensures optimal efficiency. The MS600B is a versatile sander that takes you from general sanding to sanding tight corners and curved shapes other sanders can’t accomplish. A separate detail finger attachment sands deep into corners and other hard-to-reach areas. The MS600B is also sold with groove, outer-curve sanding attachments to sand curved shapes like chair spindles, dowels, recessed areas of woodworking projects, grooved surfaces and more. The search for a reasonably priced finish sander continues... I had hoped that this little unit from Black & Decker would hold up for a while and I would get some good use out of it. I was disappointed. First, the "Zone Touch" feature is worthless. The red light comes on until the unit gets up to speed but after that you could beat it against a wall and the light would stay green! The sanding platform is attached to the unit with three screws. After only a couple hours of use, the plastic attachment posts around the screws detached from the rest of the unit. There was no way to fix it since the plastic itself had literally liquified and separated. I called the Black & Decker helpline and they referred me to the DeWalt repair center in the metro area in which I live. I haven't yet taken it over there since the gas/time may cost me as much as a new unit. I liked the versatility and comfort of this unit but it doesn't do any good if the machine isn't working at all.
