I have used the Original Mechanix glove that cost $25 at Home Depot and wore them out within weeks. The DeWalt DPG20XL are by far a much better work glove. Their is an extra layer of material between the index finger and the thumb. That helps the glove last longer, protects the hand better, and provides better grip because that area is textured. There is also an elastic strip at the wrist that keeps dirt, sand, wood chips, etc. from getting into the glove when working. Other than that, the Mechanix glove and the DeWalt glove have the same Synthetic leather finger tips and elastic material on the back of the hand. I would recommend these gloves to anyone, and I would use them instead of Mechanix gloves if I had a choice between the two.
