Product Description
The Hori-Hori Digging Tool was originally designed for excavating aged stock high in the mountains of Japan, where enthusiasts still find prized specimens for Bonsai. The black blade is concave, thick and strong for digging and prying in rocky terrain, with semi-sharp, beveled and serrated edges for cutting anchored roots. Provided with a thick, natural wood handle for a strong grip, and a black, heavy vinyl sheath with leather belt loop. 6 1/2 blade, 11 3/4 overall length

I received my first Hori Hori as a gift and wasn't sure what to do with it. Once I started using it for weeding and digging, I now can't work without it. I misplaced my first one and had to immediately buy another because I was lost in my garden without it. (I painted the handle of the second one to make it easier to locate.) I heard a radio interview with a person from the Cornell University Extension Program, and this tool was her top gardening tool as well. This is now one of my favorite gifts to give.
