This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new conditions. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes. Porter-Cable's drywall sander is currently the only one of its kind. While this may have momentarily eliminated competitive pressure, Porter-Cable still put together a high-quality tool. Long enough to sand 10-foot ceilings from the ground, lightweight (8 pounds), and able to suck up the vast majority of the fine, potentially harmful dust with an attachable vacuum, this drywall sander impressed us right away. Drywall contractors all over are excited about this new tool. The 1-1/4-inch vacuum hose is 13 feet long, so a person can cover a lot of ground without having the move the vacuum. Simply put, this sander saves a tremendous amount of time (and countless muscle aches), while employing the same great sanding technology featured on other sanders made by Porter-Cable. It easily sands three times faster than hand-sanding--maybe even four times faster. And the end result is a large, smooth, uniform surface. Porter-Cable's done good with this sander--we predict everyone on the job site will agree.

The drywall sander works lke a champ. Positives; 1) MUCH less dust... 2) MUCH less dust... 3) Attaches to a typical wet/dry vac easily 4) The size of the sander head allows you to do any seams that are 10" or less in width.. 5) Machine can be used for long periods of time with out a lot of excertion. 6) Can be used to rough up semi-gloss / glossy painted surfaces to help paint out rooms... a typical 12' X 12' room can be sanded in 30-40 minutes. If you are in the habit of painting / drywall repair / room renovations more than once a year or more than just touch up... this saves you lots of time.
