This powerful 13 amp, 6,000 RPM, 2.25 HP sander provides high performance and durability for moderately heavy jobs. Sold without accessories, a 7-inch backing pad and disc can be attached allowing this tool to be used for removing paint or rust from metal, plastic and fiberglass surfaces. Spiral bevel gears transfer maximum torque for heavy duty jobs. Spring loaded recessed spindle lock assists in easy accessory changes. This tool can be converted to a grinder by purchasing either a 7-inch or 9-inch guard and wheel which are easily attached to the tool. Grinding applications remove more material and may be used to shape metal. Includes tool, side handle, flange and washer.

The 6078 grinder/sander with a 9" grinding wheel is a force to be respected! I've used it to clean up welds, cut metal, sand and also to buff out a boat hull. This is a heavy tool, you will feel your arms at the end of the day! Its weight along with the centrifical force generated by the 9" wheel work together to steady the cut. The variable speed comes in handy to match the tool to the job.
