Powermatic has a reputation among woodworkers for offering uncompromised power and quality in all their tools, and this 12-inch disc sander is no exception. Designed and built for full-time shops in need of a disc sander that can perform day in and day out for a lifetime, this sanding machine comes with the stability and storage space of a full cabinet with a hinged door. The sander is powered by a 1-1/2-horsepower, totally enclosed, fan-cooled motor, that also drives a built-in dust collection impeller. A high-volume 5-micron bag collects all the dust efficiently, and is easily opened with a zippered and Velcro-sealed flap at the bottom. The cast-iron table is as solid as they come, and tilts from 90 to 45 degrees with preset stops. There's also a manual brake allowing you to quickly stop the disc after sanding. To sweeten the deal, Powermatic includes a circle jig and a deluxe miter gauge with every sander. --Brian Trinen

There were a couple of features that attracted me to this unit like the built in dust-collection and the circle sanding. However, so far I am disappointed with the unit. It has severe run out on the disc(3/64in.) on the outside edge. Powermatic sent me a new disc and it is almost as bad. Still waiting to hear from them. I purchased this unit because it was a Powermatic and expected the quality to be set to a higher standard.
