These grinders are replacing the older DW402. We run all our grinder with 5" grinding and sanding wheels. It was a tough go for the older DW402 which would last for 2-4 years of daily use. The new D28402 has even more power and the grip/switch fits better into your hand. We tried $20-$40 and $100 to $150 grinders and found these grinders stand up great, are easy to handle, easy to take apart, you can get parts for them, and the parts are inexpensive. So far we have 8 of them in our shop. On a saftey note don't leave them on the floor. The tendancy is to put them down with the wheel up. You may end up turning the grinder on by stepping on the switch. This cannot happen with griders that have slide switches. Even with this we preffer this grinder.
