This is a reconditioned power tool. Reconditioned generally means that the tool has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the tool back to like new conditions. Some tools may contain cosmetic blemishes. This new compressor is designed to offer end users increased performance, quiet operation, and a lightweight, compact design. DEWALT designed the D55141 trim compressor to handle up to two finish nailers. Finish woodworkers and carpenters can use the D55141 to complete custom and exterior trim, while other tradesmen will find it useful in a number of non-trim applications. Performance ¿ For increased performance, the compressor produces 2.0 SCFM at 90 PSI, 150 PSI Max, and provides users with a low noise operation at 79 dBA. The D55141 is also equipped with an oil-free pump, allowing for maintenance-free operation. This long-life pump delivers surge performance with quick recovery, and the oil-free design also increases productivity by eliminating the need for users to check or refill the pump.

I got this compressor factory refurbished from Hardware Sales, Inc. The price was great even with shipping. The compressor arrived in great cosmetic condition (looked new). I followed the directions and did a 15 minute break in period with the valve open. I then shut it and let it build up to full pressure. The motor seems to labor toward the end, but it was fine. I used the compressor for some test nails then emptied the tank. Two days later the compressor would not turn on...it didn't even make a sound. Hardware Sales was helpful, but suggested I take it to a local repair place instead of them sending me another one. So now it's been in the shop for more than two weeks waiting for Dewalt to send out the part that needs replaced. It will be covered by warranty, but just be aware that your refurbished (in Mexico) compressor might not be around for a while when you first get it. Luckily I don't "need" it right now or I'd be more upset. I still saved about $70 and paid no tax.
