I bought this product so I could take it in the backyard and listen to music while I was doing pool exercises. When I received it, the product is no bigger than my hand! And, I thought, OK, I will have it in case of an emergency, since it has a hand crank that is supposed to last 1 hour if you crank it for 30 seconds or more. So, here I am, cranking away, delighted to hear my favorite country station, and the sound faded away after a few minutes! I re-read the instructions, to make sure I did it correctly, and still had problems. So, my advice is, if you want to use this product for more than a few minutes at a time, don't buy it! It does have an option for another power source, but it does not come with it. It also does not have an option for batteries.
