It combines an AM and FM radio with electronic listening capability so that you can listen to your favorite station without being isolated from your environment. The Peltor Alert also has an audio jack for both radio and scanner connections, as well as a noise reduction level of 24dBA. This attractive radio headset comes in a matte red finish and requires two AA batteries (not included).

Listen to your favorite radio programming without ever being isolated from your surrounding environment. NRR of 25dBA. The Peltor ALERT features an automatic switch stereo/mono for best reception. The ALERT allows you to listen to your surroundings, even boosting weak sounds to improve your hearing in certain situations, and yet attenuating loud, harmful noises. You can connect your MP3 player or IPOD to the ALERT radio headset, by using the FL6N audio input cable, sold separately.

I received these for Christmas, and am blown away! I've used them while running a chainsaw, string trimmer, and diesel tractor. Simply amazing. Listen to the radio while you can still hear outside noises (volume controls on both), but outside noise shuts down above a certain sound pressure level. Makes working outside with noisy equipment a totally different experience! I'm surely going to wear these in the wood shop too. If I'd had these 40 years ago, I could probably still hear high frequencies! Very comfortable too. Peltor has hit a home run with this product!
